The van Dyke process might be called " little sister" of the Kallitype, because
 it is one of the simplest of all silver salt techniques . Small but fine, since  
 van Dyke produces a very stable and responsive, deep brown image tone. 
The emulsion can be applied on various substrates such as wood , paper, ceramics 
or fabric . After exposure under UV  light ( sun or artificially ) , the  print can be
developed under normal tap water .

- 100 ml emulsion (A+B+C) in brownglass bottle for appr. 30 sheet 20 x 25 cm
- 500 ml concentrated fixer solution for 2,5 liters of working solution

Gelatin Binder                                                                        

Gelatin binder acts as a sizing agent.

Lab grade gelatin binder with a bloom grade of 267 and 5,09 Ph.

The bloom factor measures how rigid the gelatin is when it sets.

When applying emulsions, Goat hair virtually  leaves no traces on the paper; it binds the absorbed liquid and applies it to the paper. In order to avoid chemical  reactions these brushes are made without any metal parts. In order to save on  expensive emulsions the brush hair can be moistened before starting work in
distilled water and squeezed out with a piece of kitchen roll . This measure
prevents the usual soaking of the entire brush hair with emulsion .
