The Colour  Blue

The Cyanotype is very often the first process you will encounter in alternative photography. This is due to the absolute simplicity of this nearly fail – safe technique and the likelihood that you will make a good print within a short time.

Cyanotype is an ultraviolet (UV) sensitive contact printing process that requires a negative the same size as the final print. The blue color of the Cyanotype print is the result of the reaction of ferrous ions to the photo reduction of ferric ammonium citrate in combination with potassium ferricyanide.

Complete Cyanotype – kit 100 (2 x 50 ml)

• 50 ml ferric ammonium citrate solution (A)
• 50 ml potassium ferricyanide solution (B)
• 500 ml Hydrogen Peroxide to make 3 liters of working solution
•     8 sheet Hahnemühle "Olatinum Rag" printing paper
•     20,3 x 25,4 cm
•     1 Hake Brush
•      2 pipettes
